BREAKING THE CYCLE
For over 25 years Adullam has offered accommodation and support to individuals who have been variously described as marginalised, vulnerable, at risk, and disadvantaged. Actually, just average people who have, at a particular time in their lives, needed a supportive environment, some help and advice, or simply a breathing space in order to move on. The work of Adullam began among men leaving prison without family or accommodation to return to. It has now grown to include work with young people, accommodation for women with children, supported housing for men and women living with HIV, help for those with mental health support needs, and projects for people who are combating drug and alcohol dependency. Our experience has been that periods of homelessness, imprisonment, harassment or abuse can set up a vicious cycle from which it becomes difficult to escape. The work of Adullam is about breaking that cycle and providing a bridge back to stability. Adullam Homes is working, along with others, to respond to the crisis of homelessness. We are helping to improve people's quality of life by the services we provide and, as an organisation motivated and informed by Christian principles, we are expressing what we believe - that God is committed to, and involved in the world. |
