Merseyside Probation Contract

As the Christmas celebrations faded into mere echoes, Russ Fairhurst, John Green and myself shrugged off our food hangovers and trudged with trepidation into the headquarters building of Merseyside Probation Service. All this effort was directed towards the presentation stage of the bidding process and securing our accommodation provision contract for another three years.

The current contract purchases the accommodation and support service for twenty offenders and is spread across Merseyside from St.Helens in the East to Seaforth in the West. We had hopes over the past two years that these twenty bed-spaces would be increased and the team pulled out all the stops to deliver a service that is second to none. We aimed to build Adullam's reputation to a point where we were recognised as the preferred provider on Merseyside. The proof of this particular approach would be evidenced in the next contract. So it was with both apprehension and excitement that we approached this watershed.

After what seemed like weeks rather than days the good news was revealed. We had not only succeeded in retaining the contract but had been awarded a 145% bedspace increase, bringing our total bed-spaces total 49. In addition to this M.P.S. left the door open for further blocks of ten beds to be set-up to cater for the expected flood of Drug Testing & Treatment Orders.

A big thanks to all those involved especially the Merseyside Probation Team for all their hard work.
